Team NOCC, one of the pioneers in cricket in Vernon, has revamped their annual T20 tournament into a league format starting in 2026. The league will attract six teams, bringing them all to Vernon once a week throughout the summer for an action-packed T20 cricket match. This format aims to boost community engagement and offer players more consistent competition, making cricket a highlight of the summer season in Vernon.
T20 Cricket is a shorter, faster format than the traditional cricket encounter which usually lasts for 3 hours. That may still sound long for most but the traditional cricket game lasts for 5 days from 9-5 (as long as the sun shines).
The league also features Vernon Strikers and Okanagan United Sports Club the other two teams in Vernon playing competitive club cricket.
This league is organized in affiliation with the Elite Cricket League BC interior, the body for major cricket in the interior. NOCC is proud to be a co-organizer of ECL as well.
